Zuihoden, located near the center of Sendai City, is home to the mausoleum of famous samurai Masamune Date. This spot is a must-see when visiting Sendai.
The fall foliage of the forested grounds is illuminated evenings during November. The contrast between the colorful leaves and black-lacquered mausoleum structures is striking, all the more so at night. This year’s light-up event will be held for six days. Make plans early so you don’t miss it!
