  • Sendai Port and Shichigahama are two of the best-known locations for surfing in Miyagi. Offering a variety of SUP and surf plans, Barefoot Surf has something suitable for any skill level. Better yet, the guides are local pro surfers! Your guide will also bring along a camera to capture the highlights of your experience. The surfing usually takes place at Sendai Shinko, and the SUP is usually in Shichigahama, but the exact location may vary somewhat depending on weather and surf conditions.

Barefoot Surf operates year-round, so you can paddle out any time of year. During colder months, loaner wetsuits are provided. Since Barefoot Surf is a small business and most of their customers are Japanese, they only stock small- to medium-size wetsuits. If you’re a larger person, please bring your own wetsuit or come during the summer months, when the weather’s so warm you won’t need to wear one.
