  • Masamune Date was one of the most powerful and cunning samurai warlords of Japan’s tumultuous Warring States period. Learn how he rose to power and founded the Sendai Domain. Explore his life and the era in which he lived through vivid, English-friendly exhibits brought to life by two hundred life-sized figures. You will understand why he is still loved and respected even four centuries after his death.

    The museum also offers an armor-wearing experience where you can put on a replica of Masamune’s armor and pose for pictures.
