Shiroishi Ski Resort is home to the steepest piste in Miyagi, a slope with a pitch of 38 degrees. It is operated by the non-profit organization Fubou Azalea, which is dedicated to the promotion of environmental stewardship and helping people enjoy the great outdoors.
Free shuttle bus service from the nearby shinkansen station as well as the closest local train station makes this ski resort an easy day trip from Sendai, or even Tokyo. Travelers with time for a more immersive experience should consider an overnight stay in Kamasaki Onsen. Located just fifteen minutes away by car, this historic hot spring village makes an ideal base for multi-day ski trips and apres-ski baths.
