“ORGAN” is painted rather mysteriously on the side of a jet-black shipping container along Akiu Highway. On the far side, it is revealed that this refers to “organ”-ic, vegetable-rich foods. Organ, it turns out, is a takeout joint that prides itself on using Akiu-grown ingredients in its dishes, all of which are dairy and meat free. Its most popular menu items include creamy vegan custard muffins, fruit tarts, and a flavorful veggie burger. The burger is as eye-catching as it is delicious, with a jet-black whole-wheat bun, a patty made from brown rice and root vegetables, and premium vegetable toppings.
Though Organ is primarily takeout, limited outdoor seating is available.
