  • A sword museum in the historic Iwadeyama area. This private museum educates visitors on the history and development Japanese swords,  with an emphasis on their legacy in northern Japan. More than fifty swords are on display. The highlights are the historic katana, tachi, and tanto swords on display, which date from the ancient Heian to Muromachi periods. Ainu (an indigenous people of Japan) swords are also displayed. There are also exhibits exploring the influence of weaponry from other countries on the development of Japanese swords.

A series of lectures on the basics and etiquette of the Japanese sword runs throughout the year. On weekends, free guided tours are offered by Mr. Chubachi himself.
